Red Cross Teams with CERT For Drill
ATTENTION!!!! The drill scheduled for the 17th has been cancelled!!!
The Western Illinois Chapter of the American Red Cross will soon be teaming up with the Local
CERT (Community Emergency Response Team)
group in a disaster drill to help train and involve volunteers.
The drill will occuring on Saturday September 17th to go along with National Preparedness Month for
the whole month of September. The drill will have two phases; the first with the CERT members
participating in a search and rescue activity which will also allow them to utilize their triage and
organizational skills. The second phase will be Red Cross oriented and will test the volunteers ability
to set up and run a shelter/service center. The drill is planned for the morning hours starting at 8am
and ending at about noon. Lunch will be served as part of the drill. If you are a Red Cross or CERT
volunteer and wish to participate in the drill and haven't already been contacted, please email
